1. Open Ava CC > Click on Start Captions to have the Ava CC box appear at the bottom of your screen
2. Configure Audio in Ava
Click the four arrows to go to Full Screen View
In the menu on the left-side of your screen, select Ava Mic
3. Start the conference call and watch Ava caption away! (you can move windows around to fit you best)
Optional: If you want Ava to indicate who is speaking, invite meeting participants to join you on Ava (don't worry, they don't need to download Ava!).
📹 For Zoom
Start the Zoom meeting
Once you are in the meeting, click on the ^ icon next to where it says "Mute". Change the settings to where you want the sound to go in/out
🔈 Speaker: this should be set to Ava Speaker
🎤 Microphone: use how you normally would (no adjustment)
📹 For Google Meets
Start the meeting on Google Meets
In the bottom right corner, click on the 3 dots (bottom right-hand corner) > Settings
Under Audio, change the settings to the following:
🎤 Microphone: this should be set to either your Bluetooth headset or computer's microphone (if you want to speak)
🔊 Speaker: this should be set to Ava Speaker
Expert tips to enhance your experience
💡To improve the accuracy of Ava, encourage meeting participants to use Bluetooth headphones/mics
💡Position the Ava CC window below your video conference window so that captions can be read easily while staying engaged in the meeting (see example at the top of this page)
💡Click the blue keyboard icon on the right to type what you have to say, especially useful for non-verbal people or anyone with an accent.
💡Customize your screen and caption settings by clicking the black stacked horizontal lines icon, also known as a hamburger icon, in the top left corner.
💡Add the Ava Scribe service for 98% accurate transcripts. Using Ava Scribe means a human transcription specialist (CART) will correct the captions in real-time.
