Ava is now able to provide floating captions on your iPhone or iPad, allowing you to caption anything from YouTube to TikTok to Spotify 🙌 Follow along below to learn how!
🚨Note: this can only be used on iOS devices using iOS 15 or higher
First, go into Settings on your phone and search for Ava. From there, click to see all the options, specifically looking for PIP (Picture in Picture) switch in Settings / General and turn it from OFF to ON (the toggle will be blue).
To enable closed captions on iOS, open the Ava App (download here for free if you don't have it yet) and simply hit the home button:
You can move the captions box by hard pressing the box and then dragging across the screen. Please note that the box can only be dragged to one of the four corners of your screen:
You can hide the captions box on either left or right edge of the screen by dragging the box to either edge. To unhide the captions box, simply tap the arrow:
To caption content such as a video on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Spotify, simply open up the app and Ava will begin to caption the video! (Remember to have the volume up for Ava to "listen" to the audio):
To mute the microphone, simply hit the ⏹ icon on Ava. To unmute, hit the ▶️ icon:
To return to the Ava app, tap on the captions box and then tap on the top right icon:
To close Ava from the captions box, tap on the captions box and then tap on the X icon on the top left:
